The Best Holiday Festivals in Nashville 2017

 In Nashville

The holiday season is upon us, and Nashville offers plenty of festivals to get you in the Christmas spirit. Each provides an excellent opportunity to spend time with the family while checking things off your Christmas list!

Give Back this Holiday Season at the Christmas Village

Christmas Village is one of the oldest charitable events in Nashville. It’s home to more than 260 merchants from 25 states that offer a variety of goods that is sure to bring someone joy! During the 56-year history, the festival has generated over 10 million dollars benefiting thousands of people supporting:

  • Special hearing and speech programs at the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center
  • Patients recovering from traumatic brain injury at the Vanderbilt Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institute
  • Funds and scholarships for aspiring artists at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Proceeds from the event are raised through ticket sales, application fees paid by prospective merchants, merchant fees, patron and corporate donations, shopping bag, and t-shirt sales and wine sales.

The event is supported and run entirely by volunteers from the Nashville Pi Beta Phi Alumnae Club with over 1,500 hours and 200 volunteers; this festival is held annually at the Fairgrounds in Nashville! Get your complete guide to the Christmas Village.

A Country Christmas in Nashville

From November 1st to January 2018, Gaylord Opryland turns into THE destination for all your holiday activities! You and your family can get photos with Santa as he sits in his guitar-shaped chair and album backdrop ready to pose with the little ones. Santa’s favorite lady makes a special appearance too with Cookies with Mrs. Claus. Gather around for warm and cozy fun with the jolliest hostess of all where children can listen to the reading of a holiday classic, and enjoy a batch of Mrs. Claus’ world-famous cookies with ice cold milk and an autographed book!

For more entertainment, you can check out one of the many shows such as Diamond Rio Holidays & Hits Dinner Show, ICE! Featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Cirque Dream Holiday where you will witness snowmen, penguins, angels, reindeer, toy soldiers, and more flying, performing different stunts!

Take a stroll through the Opryland Hotel while being dazzled by the more than three million lights on display both in and outside the venue. While you are there, stop by the Nativity Display featuring special lighting effects and an audio rendition of the biblical story of the birth of Christ. If you want a romantic way to view the lights, why not hop onboard a horse-drawn carriage where you can snuggle up to your loved one.
